20/52

These guys are all finding their own personalities. It is a joy to watch them unfold. We might direct, influence (think we influence?!) but they are all individuals and becoming quite fascinating.

19/52

An ordinary weekend but one where the sun shone and I felt so blessed to be alive and to be sharing it with these guys. We rocked spots, stripes and triangles this week. Mr T is ninja turtle obsessed and most of his home time sees him sporting an old kimono style dressing gown of mine...

Mother's Day Making

This Mother's Day we have got some pretty little gifts for my Nan and my Mum.

But as we weren't going to see them, in fact, rarely see them Mother's Day with them so far away, I wanted to send something we had made to make their day sweeter.

My Nan is a great baker but doesn't cook so much these days and my Mum doesn't like baking especially but loves something sweet for afternoon tea. We enjoyed making these pretty little boxes up, I think we'll do this again when we want to send some love.

I am terrible at phone calls as my friends and family will attest although I do now call my Mum fairly regularly. But a box of baking is surely akin to a box of love?

xx

PS We made our old fave chocolate chip cookies from here (you can just use brown sugar and I always reduce the sugar a little, wholemeal SR flour works well too) and this new recipe for coconut balls thanks to Martha.  (Just because I had to look it up: 2 sticks of butter is about 250g, use normal dessicated coconut and add a little extra sugar until it doesn't taste of butter too much. I added coconut essence too. The kids are mad for these, they are really very nice).

Wings Dresses Reduced to $20!

While I love many of our styles, this is probably my favourite winter dress ever.

Why? It's so versatile, great for the all important winter layering and works for all age girls and body shapes. My two youngest girls are getting new ones this winter and they will wear them religiously. These styles go up to larger sizes and really do work for uber cool tweens.

PS you can use direct deposit in Australia with us now! Details are here.

Blue Wings Dress $40 down to $20
Black Denim Wings, $40 down to $20

After three nights away this week and a frantic finish to the week, I have enjoyed a quiet weekend. A shopping trip with the middle two while the little slept and the teenager kept her company. Pitch Perfect - love Rebel Wilson! A day today of washing and cooking and designing and playing and meaning to go out but never quite getting there.

17/52

This week I'm off to the windy city, Wellington for work. My camera broke. So my images are few and far between. Given it's all about work this week, I thought I'd share some of my favourite images of my kittens working for Quince. They have always been great models.

Take it Slooowwww...

I have a well deserved reputation in my family for being a little careless when cooking dinner. My worst habit is determining dinner must be made, that it must be fabulous and off I go. I get distracted at the vital moment by a demanding 2 year old, a demanding email, or a demanding Pinterest obsession. Combine this moment of distraction with my natural impatience that has the gas up far higher than need be and you understand why most meals I make are burnt.

For this reason the dinner preparation is usually handled by my more patient and less inclined to multi task Mr Quince.

But I am a mum who likes to feed my kids and feed them well. Particularly with me working outside the house for most of the week, I want to cook for them. Really want to. But they want me not to cook for them. Really want me not to.

I happened across a slow cooker when online to buy a new vacuum, as you do. I bought it and am transformed. Impossible to burn! Impossible! One pan to wash up! Fifteen minutes at the start of the day and out you go, then all walk in to fragrant herbs simmering and ready to serve.

Slow cookers are awesome you busy mamas.

I have started a slow cooker board on Pinterest because, you know, I have more time to pin now I'm not burning dinner.

Favourite to date: balsamic chicken. Served with couscous. Amazing.

I'm a great cook if you cover my cooking in condiments to the point where you can only taste the condiments

A day in the city looking at modern art. We had a blast. I'll write a post on the White Rabbit Gallery soon, it's a great day out for kids in Sydney and has the added benefit of dumplings for lunch!

Miss Independent

At the start of this month, I overheard her singing the alphabet. In full! She has started to pee on the toilet too. What a clever bunny.

She is getting very independent. Her speech is hilarious and her comprehension is great too. She won't speak a word though to someone she doesn't know well, a little ice queen but after oh, a year or two, she'll open up.

Baby Betsy is oh so very 2. I call her Mini Mussolini for her dictator qualities and tendency to overreact. Sometimes her fury scares me. I forgot 2.

She stands next to me now and says "Mummy I need something" "I need chocolate" "Just one?" "Kids, kids let's have chocolate"...and so it goes.

And in case it ain't obvious from the mismatched shoes, she loves to dress herself!

Love this little bunny xx PS cute cat t shirt from our next Summer range, she adores it
